On Jan. 31, the design community gathered at True Residential’s NYC showroom for the winners’ reception of its inaugural Fridgescaping Design Competition. Guests were invited to explore the stunning interior transformations of True’s colorful refrigeration units, enacted by six visionary designers and creatives, including Bonnie Steves, BJS, with Gigi Chen, Gigi Chen Art; Rose Ott, Rose Ott Design; Faten Baassiri, Studio 1820; and Maria Lomanto and Michelle Jacobson, DesignGLXY Group.
After hundreds of votes were tallied across social media, Bonnie Steves and Gigi Chen’s installation The Bower Birds, a nature-inspired, metaphorical ode to our hopes and desires, was named the winner. The captivating design will be shown in True Residential’s booth at KBIS, held in Orlando, Fla. this month.
Awarded $1,000 to donate to the charity of their choice, the winning duo chose to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
